Exhaustion and micro flares

Ever have one of those weeks where you run on high gear until your body just pulls the emergency brake?

After weeks of non-stop obligations, appointments, and errands, it all finally caught up with me last night. I was completely exhausted. I met to bed at 9:30pm but instead of sleeping, I ended up with awful restless legs and couldn’t settle down at all until 3am.

Last night I came down with chills and a fever. The fever finally broke around 2:30 a.m., and after changing out of soaked pajamas and laying down some towels, I finally slept at 3:00 a.m.

By the time I woke up the next morning at 9am I actually felt okay.

This has been happening in a weird pattern lately: I’ll feel completely fine for about two weeks, and then out of nowhere, after a period of deep exhaustion and bizarre restless legs, night fever, and sleeplessness hit again.

My legs will be so restless like I have to walk around. But when I get back in bed after a few minutes it starts again. It’s so extremely annoying.

Because I bounce right back to feeling fine, it’s been easy to put off getting checked out. It feels so different from my typical flares, which usually spiral down until I need medication adjustments. This isn’t following that same course, but the cycle is definitely trying to tell me something.

I’m going to do some research and plan on getting some labs run to figure out what’s actually going on. I need to do some intense research.

I’ve asked my Rheumy about it but didn’t get any answers.

I’ll keep you all updated as I figure it out!

And I take it a little slower. ❤️

Stay well my friends.
