New Rheumatologist was so nice

I met the new Rheumatologist. She was very caring and very patient. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed. She had seen cases of AOSD in California during her work there but she did admit that she had not seen many cases of AOSD in Arizona. And it was wonderful that I didn’t have to explain my disease to her. She was very knowledgeable.

As many AOSD sufferers that’s probably one of the most frustrating things about this disease, always explaining but, overall teaching. I know it’s tiring to always explain but it’s so beneficial so that maybe if they get another case that might be Stills, they can identify it quickly to avoid another person suffering in pain as long as I did.

I did learn that many of the patients from my old rheumatologist office have found their way to my doctor, Dr. K. It seems many people went to appointment as usual to find the doors locked and no working number or location of where their records went. I am glad I had them make all the copies of my records starting from my 1st visit in 2008 to 2019.

I had a feeling the office was changing. I could feel the chaos and lack of attention back in 2019 and I had them make copies. My gut feeling was very right. But, all my records past 2019 are lost and missing.

My labs came back ok. My CRP was at the end of the lab scale value, but no others were that way. Maybe that is why the night sweats and fevers and making it is hard to get up in the morning.

My knees have been very hot exactly at 7pm each night. 7pm is my marker time for when I had my flares. But last night was less than other evenings.

I am so glad I have a new Rheumatologist, she is kind and compassionate. She is in the network of my other doctors which records can no longer vanish into thin air as they did with that independent rheumatologist. Where all records were in a private clinic.

I feel relived and grateful I am in this new network with a great doctor. I wish every patient could have this type of doctor on their team.

Take care, stay healthy friends.
