Was it a random event ?

I’ve been fortunate to have felt so good for so long. It’s been at least 6 years since a last flare? And then recently I learned my Rheumatologist retired. I had called a few weeks ago to get a bone scan done and the office number was disconnected. Wow! How does one go about finding out where all those records went ?

I don’t recall when my last flare was. I haven’t looked back in the journal. For some reason, I don’t like to look back on my last flare dates. It depresses me.

Last night, I had fever and chills. I thought it was because the weather is changing from so broiler/inferno hot here in Arizona. We have had extreme hot temperatures. Up to 118 degrees and 110 degrees for weeks on end. Arizona living in the summer here is no picnic. definitely not for wimps !

But it’s cooling down to the low 50’s at night. When I felt a little chilled before I went to bed, I thought that the cool weather made me chilled. I wondered if the hectic pace I’ve been keeping has made my body tired and the random fever didn’t seem like a big deal before I retried to bed.

But when I woke up at 2am with drenched sheets. A wet head of hair and wet pajamas with chills, I had a bad feeling in my stomach.

This made me scared. I changed the pajamas and put down some cotton towels. It was so late and I didn’t feel like changing the sheets.

But if anyone with AOSD knows, cold damp sheets makes trying to go back to sleep even harder. So I wrapped myself up in a cotton robe.

This morning I feel fine. But I will pull back on my schedule for a while. I don’t want to flare. I’m praying I don’t go into a flare.

I think it’s time to go get some labs done.

Stay well and be safe. 🙏

I acquired AOSD in 2008. I have suffered so terribly and have found ways to help me regain my life. This my personal journal of this mystery illness to diagnosis. I hope that I can help others with my experience and information.
