Well, I thought I was doing pretty well drinking chamomile tea before bedtime. It worked the other night. I slept 8 hours straight. But last night……it did not work at all. I drank my tea, felt sleepy at 9:30 and went to bed. At 12:30…….BING!! my eyes pop open, and I am wide awake. Super awake. I lay there for an hour, being still not to wake up Mitch. Then at 2am I still lay there, but getting restless and more restless. So I get up and read in the living room thinking, this will make me tired. But, no. At 3am I start watching t.v. I almost buy a stationary bike so that I can do spinning in my living room, then I almost buy a pogo stick that plays music as you hop around, so I switch the channel and start watching a show on baking delicious cakes, I almost start baking a cake, but decided the smell of cake baking will wake up Mitch who is running a million miles with some friends at 6am. Married to a marathon runner. I go the computer and check emails, look at some abstract artists sites and return to the t.v to watch Jerry Springer at 4am. The fighting couples are disturbing. How can people watch this show?? Endless infomercials, the whistling tea-pot that whistles the star-spangled banner is cool………….only $40! I almost buy it. But then realize who buys this crap?? Me…..almost. It’s now… 5 am, now it’s 6am. NOT sleepy yet. Now I need to stay awake all day to avoid another sleepless night if I go to bed now….. My husband wakes up surprised that I am wide awake, cookies and milk on the coffee table, lights all on in the place and I’m wide awake. He shakes his head, and feels bad for me. He knows it will be a rough day for me. He gives me a kiss then he’s off for his morning run.
I acquired AOSD in 2008. I have suffered so terribly and have found ways to help me regain my life. This my personal journal of this mystery illness to diagnosis. I hope that I can help others with my experience and information.
